A new dining facility has opened in the Bennett Center offering an array of prepackaged hot meals, juices, fruit cups, yogurts, and more. The Bennett Center Cafe is open Monday-Friday from 11:00AM – 8:00PM.
This new edition is optimal for some to avoid the crowds at Lane, but its limited seating may make it challenging to accommodate large groups.
Even with the potential challenges, the Gordon College Student Association (GCSA) was able to fund a new dining venue on campus, which some view as being a victory for GCSA. Collin Hall (‘21) said, “I think it’s really cool that they give GCSA that kind of power.”
When asked for an opinion on the new addition to the Bennett Center, Nicole Barber (‘18) said, “It’s really nice. When I come here for my class, I don’t have to walk all the way to Lane. I like it.”
This facility seems to still be gaining traction in use among the student body. Justine Boonstra (‘21) said, “It doesn’t seem that busy, but I think that athletes will benefit from the cafe- to grab a quick meal without having to go to Lane.”
This cafe is complete with two refrigerated areas that hold prepackaged food, one hot meals section, a microwave, and coffees including: Pumpkin Spice, Fogbuster, and Decaf House.
This location may be superb for grabbing a quick snack before or after a workout, and students are encouraged to check out this new dining venue.
