Thank you for your continued patience through the Tartan’s inactivity this past month. For alumni and friends who are not on campus, a ransomware attack hit Gordon College on October 21st, blocking access to all Gordon sites, including our beloved tartan.gordon.edu. Although most students on campus are up to date on news from the college, news pieces about events of the past month serve the community of Gordon alumni and parents who don’t receive the same updates from administration. With this in mind, our news pieces written since the beginning of the outage will be published throughout the week with the most recent information.
In more optimistic news, we are excited to announce that Scot Radio is now officially a part of the Tartan! We are looking for a general manager of Scot radio, a video editor, business manager, and staff editors/writers for the newspaper. Our vision for future projects includes podcasts, interviews with special guests, and student submissions. If you would like to work with us, please contact us through [email protected].
We are also happy to announce that we will be releasing a print edition for the first time since 2019! If you would like to be a part of this edition, please send us your 600-700 word submissions via our email by November 30. In the meantime, we will be publishing a mixture of news articles and opinion pieces written by our staff. Some highlighted topics include the network outage, indigenous history, new clubs, sports updates, vaccine mandates, and Dining Services. Thank you again for your support, and we hope you enjoy what our team has been working on!
