May brings about the bittersweet moment of graduation. An event that signifies Gordon College seniors departure of Grapevine Road to take on the real world. But what are they up to after they leave Gordon?
One of Gordon’s most recent graduates, Ryan Williamson, is working at Cape Ann YMCA located in Gloucester, MA. Williamson works as a member engagement specialist as well as a personal trainer.
“I love my job, and I love that I get to incorporate my pre-medical knowledge to people who are looking to live a healthier lifestyle as well as engage with people in the city of Gloucester,” said Williamson.
Prior to working at the Cape Ann YMCA, Williamson had quite the presence on campus.
He served on Orientation CORE staff, threw shot put and hammer on the track and field team, was an assistant coach for the Women’s basketball team, coached strength and conditioning for track and field, a fitness director, and was a TA for several chemistry classes.
Williamson graduated as a Biology major with a minor in Chemistry.
“I would not be as prepared as I am if it were not for the education I received from my amazing professors as well as the experience I gained from working for several staff members, most notably Greg Scruton. He helped me to learn to balance my life, how to properly set my priorities, and shaped me into the man I am today,” said Williamson.
Williamson wants to further his education and has recently applied to medical school where he is awaiting a decision.
