Letter From The Editor-in-Chief

Editor-In-Chief, Presley Beal, class of 2026

Being back in the momentum of Times Square for the College Media Association a couple of weekends ago was refreshing. I had the privilege of attending the annual conference for the second time in a row, reunited with familiar faces and newly introduced to others’. The first year I attended, I was just a staff writer for The Tartan. Now, this year I went as Editor-in-Chief and brought one of our dedicated staff photographers, Becca Shemenski. We learned and re-learned everything journalism and were able to come back to campus after and further our journalistic duties. I love that about our passions; when you love something, you get to continue to learn as long as that passion lives. It’s something that carries outside of work and academics but into the people you surround too. Love indeed carries people.

Now, the March issue is here and only two issues remain until the year is complete. The warm weather surely makes me more hopeful; I hope the beach doesn’t soon pull me away from academics too much. This issue was quite stressful to complete with Spring break just ending before we had to start what I call “design layout week.” Consecutively, it consists of meeting at our only free time (9pm) and crafting the newspaper until even later hours each night for a week.

For this issue, and as always, I thank the J’s: Jane on Design, Jordan as his Intern-self, and Jesus…of course.

I thank you as usual for reading just a glimpse inside of our college’s mind.

Love and etc.,

Presley Beal
