Glenn Deckert is taking on additional responsibilities as the new coordinator for Gordon College’s Title IX team. Deckert is the chief of Gordon College’s campus police and has worked on the Title IX team for several years. Title IX prohibits sexual discrimination and harassment in academic programs. He is taking over the role from Nancy Anderson who retired in December 2019.

Deckert’s new responsibilities as the new coordinator include making sure the college complies with Title IX regulations. This involves managing and overseeing campus policies regarding sexual discrimination and misconduct, as well as managing a team of investigators that respond to reports. Deckert will also oversee student training to prevent sexual violence.

Deckert worked closely with Anderson before her retirement to ensure a smooth transition. The decision for Deckert to be the coordinator for the Title IX team was finalized in December.

“I have been part of the Title IX leadership team on campus for many years, but it will certainly be a new experience to be responsible for the institution’s overall compliance,” Deckert said. “It is definitely a team effort, and I am very grateful for many colleagues and team members who are working together to ensure members of the community are well cared for.”
